Pictures Edit

No problem, there is actually an software named "BfMeshView" that can view such things easly.

DoTD Edit

Hi!, sorry for being inactive, holidays and all that :P

yeah, I think only "new items" should matter by now, no reason to keep updating it day after day :P

back from a trip Edit

oh hi!

back from the easter holidays, how's everything coming around here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by M1k3ol (TalkContribs)

oh well, nice to see everything coming together!, and yeah, I've been struggling a bit regarding the new standard way of having alt fire weapons for my own weapon guide on the forum, even though it is one weapon, on files it is the same as having 2 different weapons :P M1k3ol 00:45, April 16, 2012 (UTC)

Your intended procedure sounds redundant, since the general case is that one skin is used for 3 different weapons. Also keep in mind that the next most gun-savvy contributor to this wiki thought that the Super sniper rifle was an M14. If there is a specific page for the models and sounds that is under construction then do point me to it. I only want to keep this wiki in shape.

Hey :D I am kinda new here and noticed that a lot of sniper rifles don't have their own page so I wanted to atleast make them one. But I have a question: Where do I get the weapon ID-s? And I have no idea how to test the recoil and damage :/ Well atleast you can help me with ID :P

Related Videos ModuleEdit

Hi, my name is Nic and I'm a member of the Wikia Content Development Team. As you may have seen on many wikis such as Call of Duty, there is a new module for the right hand column that displays related videos to the Wiki. This is a new feature that we want to place on your wiki, would you be cool with allowing this? - Wagnike2 (talk) 20:45, August 8, 2012 (UTC)

Rollback Edit

Hey, Could you maybe rollback the changes done by this guy? He has been messing with the numbers on the mission page ;(

IWantCoffee (talk) 21:03, August 8, 2012 (UTC)

Sigh, 2 more candidates for a temporary ban:

This Guy Reason: Changing kill criteria to 300 (I don't know if it's enough for a ban?) &

That Guy Reason: Deleted knives page.

IWantCoffee (talk) 15:09, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

Shotguns error Edit

I think something went wrong while I was updating the shotgun page, cause it's suddenly empty?!

IWantCoffee (talk) 19:27, September 10, 2012 (UTC)

3D Models of Maps Edit

There is currenetly new 3D models of maps with outstanding quality and zoom factor, i'll suggest you or me to add them in the articles, but the file size is huge - 10 MB is max each file. Maxwell123 (talk) 22:32, September 17, 2012 (UTC)

My bad, by saying 10 MB max i was refearring to maximum single photo file size eligible on wikia !, these map renders are indeed mush larger in file size than just 10 MB, one was 20 to 30 MB in total.

I'll recommend we keep the map overlay "Thumbnail" in .PNG that have significantly smaller file size compared to the big one, like on the following example:

We can link to the bigger quality one by Weblink or similar or in picture licence section.
Maxwell123 (talk) 14:06, September 18, 2012 (UTC)

rollback Edit

Thanks for the promotion :) IWantCoffee (talk) 11:33, September 29, 2012 (UTC)

oh hi! Edit

hey, I really love the new look of the front page, nice job there!

on some other news, I got some free time back, so, I'll be around for sure to continue some projects ;)

M1k3ol (talk) 21:55, November 4, 2012 (UTC)

New Forums Edit

Wikia has just released their new forum: Link. I think it looks interesting, and maybe something we could consider to enable on the wiki. IWantCoffee (talk) 12:03, November 30, 2012 (UTC)

Some good points you made there. It's still completely new, so there are with out a doubt many things that can get improved or changed. I really like parts of the new design though, so I'll be keeping an eye on the changes they make ;) IWantCoffee (talk) 19:32, November 30, 2012 (UTC)

Unused photo Edit

There is a lot of mission images that aren't used (Special:UnusedFiles). I assume the are just waiting for deletion? IWantCoffee (talk) 20:21, December 13, 2012 (UTC)

In cases such as this, I suppose there is no problem with just deleting the files? I see no one who would oppose, since they never been used. IWantCoffee (talk) 20:31, December 13, 2012 (UTC)

Weapon categories Edit

Just to start somewhere, I will start adding missing categories to the weapons articles :3 I listed those I knew here: User_blog:IWantCoffee/Notepad#Weapon_Categories. Anyone I missed? Also, is the Category:Weapons only meant for weapon series articles, or is it a main category for all weapon related articles?

We agree on the categories then. I excluded Category:Weapons when updating the machine gun articles, but added it to the category pages. About the very long range & very fast speed, and any pages alike, I also consider these unnecessary and plan to just change these to "very fast" or "very long" whenever I come across them. IWantCoffee (talk) 15:04, December 15, 2012 (UTC)

EDIT: meant I would change them to "Fast speed" and "long range"IWantCoffee (talk) 15:08, December 15, 2012 (UTC)

Image Galleries Edit

If we are to add more detailed pictures to the wiki using the Freecam (which I think is a great idea), then maybe it would be an idea to make the galleries as subpages (ex. Victory Village/Gallery), and add a tabber at the top of the article. I have seen more Wikis doing this, and I think it's good way of separating gallery and text, yes still have them on the same article. IWantCoffee (talk) 19:30, December 18, 2012 (UTC)

Weapon Page Layout Edit

Yes it is a passable solution. It seems logical to put all info on a weapon under the level 2 heading, yet somehow I still think it looks a bit misplaced there under the template :/ Anyway:

  • TOC: I think we should include one of these on all of the pages, even those with less than 3 headings. It creates consistency and it may help to clear any confusion when people get redirected from clicking on a super/dapper weapon link. Hence why I added it to many of the pages, in case you wondered ;)

So then the general page layout could be:

  • TOC
  • Weapon A name level 2 heading
    • Template
    • Model and sound level 3 heading
  • (Weapon B name level 2 heading)
    • (Template)
    • (Model and sound level 3 heading)
  • Tactics and Playstyles

Pictures & Wiki stuff Edit

1. Would you mind if I removed the picture attributions? I don't really see any reason to have them.

2. I came across this script:  SignatureCheck yesterday, and thought it could be usefull on the wiki. Especially the {{Forumheader}} thing. What do you think?

IWantCoffee (talk) 16:52, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

Haha yeah I know, the default messages can be changed though ^^ I'm currently trying to get the Forum thing to work. It dosen't seem to like the {{forumheader}} template...

IWantCoffee (talk) 18:23, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

Do you know if it's valid code to use "nowiki" in Common.js? Those ~~~~ keeps turning into my own signature when saving :P IWantCoffee (talk) 17:09, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

Check the noSignature property in the script we added yesterday: MediaWiki:Common.js. It currently shows your signature instead of the ~~~~
IWantCoffee (talk) 17:37, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

uh oh Edit

Okay, im think im just gonna stop messing with the common.js. Looks like I f*cked something up.... IWantCoffee (talk) 19:55, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

It went back to normal. Probably clicked purge one to many times. IWantCoffee (talk) 20:05, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

No caption thumbnails template Edit

Hi, i just created two templates with the idea to hide the caption section under thumbnail photos.

Bquiet edit

Maxwell123 (talk) 20:54, January 15, 2013 (UTC)

Not every image need an caption, some are self explanatory, in general to keep the article in good looking and reduce the overall distracting.
Maxwell123 (talk) 09:09, January 16, 2013 (UTC)

Infobox Edit

I have been working on a new infobox, this one specific for maps. You can see an example in my sandbox. What do you think? I mostly wanted to get rid of the image padding/margin, and in the process decided to move the overview image to the bottom of the template (inspired by the Battlefield wiki's infobox) and replace it by a in-game photo of one of the maps landmark. IWantCoffee (talk) 17:43, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, I'll keep that in mind ;) though, I would always like to hear a second opinion before I start making changes to things such as templates or sections, which it may be that only I want to see changed/adjusted. IWantCoffee (talk) 13:25, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

Request by AvatarHA #2Edit

Hey, I wanted to ask you, if I could be a Moderator on this Wiki, I would love to help people and optimize the Wiki :)

AvatarHA (talk) 10:30, February 9, 2013 (UTC)

Store items Edit

Just to clear it out, I don't doubt those items have been in the store. What I was thinking about here, is that items doesn't stay in store for very long nowadays. And with only a few editors, it's impossible to keep such info updated all the time. So, if possible, it might be better to avoid mentioning whether or not it currently is available in the store.

Either way I just realised that these changes to the store is something new, and the info was placed there before that. My bad ^^.

IWantCoffee (talk) 09:53, February 23, 2013 (UTC)

License Edit

Shall all images from the BFH including renders, screenshots, logos etc. be licensed with the EA template? IWantCoffee (talk) 19:24, March 10, 2013 (UTC)

Just like to know. Currently going through the image section and adding categories to uncategorised images. Currently moved all map images to Category:Maps (Images) IWantCoffee (talk) 20:02, March 10, 2013 (UTC)

Level calculator Edit

I just about finished building a level calculator (Sandbox and Mediawiki). I don't know if anyone's going to use it, but it was fun to try and make one myself :D You can copy the script from my common.js, if you want to try it. Anyway, If you agree, I'd like to put it up on the levels page, once I finish it.IWantCoffee (talk) 12:00, March 15, 2013 (UTC)

Fixed it, it should show the correct numbers now ^^ IWantCoffee (talk) 20:42, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
Well, if the code is not used any more then I see no reason to keep it. Is this the "Dynamic Navigation Bars" script, we are talking about? IWantCoffee (talk) 09:43, March 24, 2013 (UTC)

Promoting the wiki? Edit

As a response to the discussion about the wiki's weapon section and this viscous circle, I have been thinking if we should try to promote the wiki on the official forum? I honestly don't think there is much hope of getting the bigger sections of the wiki updated any time soon, with only you and me as the only active editors. IWantCoffee (talk) 11:18, April 14, 2013 (UTC)

BTW, did you know about this page: MediaWiki:Description. Supposedly it sets the description shown below the Wiki link on search engines. IWantCoffee (talk) 17:09, April 14, 2013 (UTC)

Punk Heroes Edit

I would probably pick Steampunk Heroes, since that's their official name and what I imagine most people would search for. IWantCoffee (talk) 18:48, April 17, 2013 (UTC)

infobox Edit

Would you mind if I updated the looks of the current Template:Infobox? IWantCoffee (talk) 19:32, April 18, 2013 (UTC)

Updated. Feel free to change the color if you can one that would fit better. IWantCoffee (talk) 13:15, May 25, 2013 (UTC)

hallo there! Edit

hey!, wassup?

I was checking around and I got to the metagame page, how about if we have a separate page for the War Room and the Metagame?

Reasons behind this is that I feel the Metagame was more of an icon, theme and trend that gave birth to the War Room, while the game mode itself is just starting and will have an story of it's own

so, what do you think?, should I start modifying that? (we have rollbacks anyways :P)

M1k3ol (talk) 04:08, April 19, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome! (i'm addicted to elo things and war room things on BFH. Nice wiki! ) Pier4r (talk) 09:14, April 27, 2013 (UTC)

Just a though Edit

What do you think about moving the "Wiki Central" tab in the navigation to the far right, after "Enviroment"? It's not a big change, but I think moving the other tabs which has links to the actual content more towards the center of the page would be better. IWantCoffee (talk) 18:52, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

Vandalism Edit

Kids from the BFH forum. IWantCoffee (talk) 08:16, May 19, 2013 (UTC)

if you mean the mess on the bundles, I got names and everything sorted, one of them got perma banned for other unrelated things M1k3ol (talk) 04:25, June 10, 2013 (UTC)

Admin questions Edit

hey, got a couple of administrative questions:

I'm tweaking the spanish wikia and got a couple of things stagged, how do you "whitelist" the official CDN files from BFH website? (to automatically grab icons and such?), not gonna lie to you, that's the one I have looked less into but an advice would help more :P

second one is, I'm doing some templates and wished to keep the look we have in here for some like the "construction" template here Template:Construction, but I find that the look for it is a "class=herostyle" which gives the look of the border (seems to be a css class for a table), how did you added it to the wiki style template?, or am I missing something else here?

M1k3ol (talk) 04:37, June 10, 2013 (UTC)

ohh, makes sense!, I guess everything can get accessed through the admin/sysop panel isn't it?, will look into it

M1k3ol (talk) 04:40, June 11, 2013 (UTC)

yeah, managed to find the ones needed yesterday but couldn't poist here to say it :P

I think I remember some of the pages, but it was long ago when I used them, I'll try to find some more management pages

Workbench Edit

Question: Talk:Workbench IWantCoffee (talk) 15:46, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

RelatedVideosGlobalList Edit

Do you know if this page is used for anything any more? Seems like someone who is not an admin edited it recently (always thought mediawiki pages were admin only) IWantCoffee (talk) 14:12, July 30, 2013 (UTC)

Item-Number Edit

Just to let you know, I have added a small script to MediaWiki:Common.js. It should now be possible to see the icons item-number by hovering over the icons. Don´t know if anyone is going to use it, but it saves you 2 clicks in case you need the number :D IWantCoffee (talk) 18:00, August 28, 2013 (UTC)

Always makes you happy when people find a use for things you make :) -- IWantCoffee (talk) 14:22, December 9, 2013 (UTC)

Workbench Edit

Sorry I didnt really think this out to your standards, I just felt like putting this info on because it bugged me when I came here looking for it and wikia didn't have it. Im really new and have a lot to learn so ill understand if its not to your standards ill and want to remove/ change it, but I truly believe its 100% up to date.ASonicShooter (talk) 23:35, November 19, 2013 (UTC)

list of items Edit

Hey, do you know if there is a list of all the items with the corresponding ID number somewhere in the files? -- IWantCoffee (talk) 13:43, December 18, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, I think the first 2 ones are what I'm looking for. -- IWantCoffee (talk) 08:28, December 20, 2013 (UTC)

wussup? Edit

oh hi!, still around and still having fun, hope you had some nice holidays!, c-you around!M1k3ol (talk)

Map pages Edit

Hey, I have just been looking through the map pages again, and I have sorta realised that I probably was a bit to hasty with seperating the pages into the mainpage and strategy page. Not that I think it was a bad idea, I just think It should have been thought more througly through from my side what exactly belongs on what page and such.

I also realise that it is a big project I threw myself into and that it takes time to update just one page properly, and so I feel kinda bad seeing the mess I made on the pages when I'm not sure if I ever get them updated. I think it be better to just update one at a time like normally.  So my question is if it be okay to undo the copy paste I made, and move the content back? -- IWantCoffee (talk) 21:50, January 23, 2014 (UTC)

I have moved the content back to the map articles now as good as I could. I think it more thoroughly through next time before I start to split up such content :/. I removed some sentences here and there though where I found the info to be redundant. -- IWantCoffee (talk) 15:59, January 24, 2014 (UTC)

Policy updates Edit

I don't think I ever remembered to mention I made some changes (besides updating some links) to Battlefield Heroes Wiki:Manual of Style at some point. Small changes, but since this is the wiki policy I think you should know, in case you disagree with something:

Knock Knock Edit

Hey there, how's it goin? :)

I haven't been around for some time now, but I haven't played BFH for a long time now, so there hasn't been much reason to anyway.

I have looked through some of the pages on the wiki, and though this may sound a bit weird, I would like to challenge an edit I have made myself: The addition of stats on the workbench page.

So why do I recommend to remove the stats on the page?

  • There isn' actually any official information on the workbench, and therefore no proper source to add (which I have always prefered).
  • The numbers on the page comes from M1k3ols guide. M1k3ol is still active on the official forum, and it's therefor to be expected that he will keep those numbers updated. It is not so on the wiki, where the numbers are likely to become outdated (I think some of them are).
  • On the forum, there is much better options for discussion on how to interpret the stats. This does not happen on the wiki.

IWantCoffee (talk) 15:40, November 17, 2014 (UTC)

Good to hear :)
I'm referring to this thread by M1k3ol: Workbench + Upgrades Stats
I think what I'm trying to emphasize is mostly the problem that it's not really possible to refer it to an official source. I'm sure M1k3ols guide is correct, but still seeing as it is not an official guide, I think all that more it would be better to simply link to his or any other guide for that sake for stats, rather than showing the numbers here. As I also said that opens up for people being able to see and join the discussion on various upgrades in his thread. Thinking about it, I actually never asked him if it was okay to show them here...
IWantCoffee (talk) 18:34, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

some more questions Edit

Hey again, sorry to bother you with my endless questions, but now that I look around, question just keeps popping up :)

  • Should the line "Interested in helping out, sign up today" on the frontpage perhaps be changed to something more wikia common such as "A wiki that anyone can edit"?
  • The section on the frontpage named "popular pages" doesn't really show the popular pages, since never figured out how to have it change the listed pages according to page views. Maybe we should change the content or rename it to something else (suggested articles or something?)

EDIT: Sigh, Now that I look at the front-page I keep wondering if its allowed to have a sort of BFH-ish inspired design... but it is a wiki/fansite dedicated to the game afterall... Urgh, I don't know... maybe I just pm and ask a blue...

IWantCoffee (talk) 22:09, December 16, 2014 (UTC)

Well, I ended up sending a few PM's to EA_FixNow, I sure hope he didn't get annoyed at me :-/ . I talked with M1ko3l and he said it was fine, so hmm... I guess I just worry too much from time to time. I recommend to change it.
Anyway, I took the liberty of changing the "Want to help out, sign up today!" on the frontpage to "A wiki about Battlefield Heroes, that anyone can edit!". It's a pretty common line on wikia, and I think it gives of a more "welcome, fell free to contribute" vibe, than the other line. I hope that is fine with you?
A quick question here: Isn't Speed in the weapon infobox = Rate of Fire? Because I think thats how everyone reads it, including me.
Also, I have decided I will stop as admin and no longer be editing here on the wiki. I haven't played the game for close to 2 years, and it seems to me like I don't really have anything to add to the wiki anymore (instead I just keep wondering and thinking about my old edits, as you can see ;). So instead I will turn my attention to other projects. Well now you know, so you won't be waiting for me to write a response in case you should want to challenge or correct any of my old edits, or just want to clean up something I edited.
Its been fun helping out here :)
Merry Christmas

A Edit

Hi, Just me again. I would like to request that the frontpage is changed. Maybe it sounds weird, but the way it looks now really bothers me. I would like if we could change it back to how it looked before.IWantCoffee (talk) 18:59, December 31, 2014 (UTC)

Hey again. My concern was mostly whether the disclaimer at the bottom was visible enough, and if people like, did notice that this is a community made wiki?! Hmm, changing the frontpage back might be a bit too much :) Also, would you mind changing my user color? I forgot to do it myself before I removed myself as admin.
IWantCoffee (talk) 09:10, January 18, 2015 (UTC)

Admin applicationEdit

I would like to apply to become an admin on this battlefield heroes wiki. I have been here for about a month and have made contribution on adding missing weapons and corrected some inaccurate statistics. I have added the workbench section as well.

I would like to contribute more to this wiki.

The sad end Edit

So, what do you think about this?, sadly the game is going out on July, any thought on it?

also, how do you feel about the coming days for the wiki during and after it?

M1k3ol (talk) 16:43, April 26, 2015 (UTC)

Development files?, as in? (like, files of the game? or concept art and such?), if it's art, maybe, at least won't hurt to try and ask...

Server files, certainly not...

New infobox layoutEdit

Hello! We’re reaching out to a few of our communities, hoping to get you on board with the migration to the new infobox markup. Our goal is to make content portable and more mobile friendly. We'd like your wikia to look good across all devices. Do you think this is something you'd be interested in? If so, please let me know and I'll go in and convert them for you. :)Witnessme (talk) 16:56, July 22, 2015 (UTC)

Hiya! I was wondering if you'd had a chance to look over the new infobox layout and if you'd like me to begin the process of converting the infoboxs into the new format? Let me know! Witnessme (talk) 21:39, July 27, 2015 (UTC)
