WelcomeEdit

Hi, welcome to Battlepedia! Thanks for your edit to the File:Maxwells Mahine gun 10.png page.

If you need help, and there are no local admins here, you may want to visit the forums on the Community Central Wiki. You can also check our Staff blog to keep up-to-date with the latest news and events around Wikia.

Happy editing, Sarah Manley@Wikia (help forum | blog)

Adding Images Edit

I would suggest you to add the images directly from the webstite. This is much less effort and doesn't require to upload each single weapon or item.
Here's the how-to: Adding Images

BFH-Wiki 21:44, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

Machine Gun Stats Edit

I started a discussion here: Talk:Machine_Guns#ROF.2FRounds_per_minute
It's easier to talk there ;)

Don't forget to sign with ~~~~, otherwise I've to check the recent changes each time to indetify the creator. BFH-Wiki 18:22, March 19, 2011 (UTC)

I hope you'll understand this:
I've not the time to pull out a timewatch for 100+ weapons, go ingame, take the "real" RoF and will edit it here... You haven't done by yourself, too, just found a single topic about some stats in the forum. If I take the stats from the files, a very exact comparisson between the single weps is possible, not with average ingame times.
Have you read the whole topic btw? It sais that there are several other influences between RpM (given in the game files) and RoF (with watchtime):
ObjectTemplate.delayToUse 0.2
There are several delays with purpose and nobody knows how they work in detail. That's why RpM > RoF

Frontage Troll Edit

Yes, some trolls messed up four pages... So the admins, including me, luckily got the right to "rollback" such edits. I banned him for 5 years :O

Range Icons Edit

No nononononono please noooooooooooooooooooooooooooot!1!

I half agree with adding those range icons on the specific range sites but not on the overview pages! Guess why I designed those small black range icons. They should lead forward and keep structure, but the huge icon has simply no use - sorry.
BFH-Wiki 17:07, March 28, 2011 (UTC)

Well... resizing them is possible and I already tried their use on an earlier wiki I gave up: http://www.lordofultima.com/en/wiki/view/battlefield+heroes%3Aweapons

The problem is that there will come more and new weapons, so the current icons you addded won't work forever. As neither you nor me can create new ones looking the same I decided on the black buttons. They're out of BFH as well and I used them on the {{Weapons}} Template, because they fit perfectly ;)

How many contributors are active? You, me, RedShocktrooper, MeinCookie, CuzDude. The last three hold back since I started the overhaul and drop some nice and pleasant encouragements on my talk page from time to time :D

Last thing: Please read it and follow the rules... It's very annoying to look up the author each time: This is a talk page. Please remember to sign your posts using four tildes (~~~~) or by using the signature button!

Sounds Edit

Visuals will be done when the time is ready. The youtube play button is an image, the one I posted is a complete file. You should read some articles about CSS and HTML for a basic knowledge. Then you'll be able to do proper layouts and advanced editing, what makes it much easier for you to understand how the wiki works. It's not that simple to create a working "press & play" button within seconds with the wished style.

And if you won't sign on talk pages with four tildes, I'll have to avoid your edits on them in any way... BFH-Wiki 16:08, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

Nice you did it ;) But it was an .ogg file, that was easier than a .wav file :P
I've nothing against you btw, it's always good to see encouraged editors. You may have read my argumentation on the BFW forum in the meanwhile. BFH-Wiki 10:51, May 23, 2011 (UTC)

Looks very good, keep it exactly the way you did it on AA-Guns, seems to work very well. Got to admit that you surprise me from time to time. BFH-Wiki 14:21, May 23, 2011 (UTC)

Super Machine Gun Models Edit

Unfortunately I can't tell you the real source of them for sure, maybe they used both as inspiration. The Browning was given in some forum thread or an older wiki page. But you can add it to the trivia of course. Someone even said they have a fictional design. I'm unsure with the national standard model as well (see BF wiki).

The achievement system can be activated by a wiki admin under Special:WikiaLabs. It's for testing purpose and a honorable feature imo ;)

And I'll continue some restructure on the BF wiki asap, just have only little time now :( BFH-Wiki 16:27, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

yes the national standard mg model its kinda hard to identify because the design is very like MG34, MG42, or M1919 at the same time.

Again the M1919 is american produced, nationals weapon inspirations is from wehrmacht WW2, so im not sure if its right to place them in the M1919 category anyway i can make the uber variation on the MG-131 tread, like i did whit the main tread: http://battlefield.wikia.com/wiki/Vickers_machine_gun

About Vickers sometimes they cald it "Vickers maxim"

Vickers and Browning M1917 are very simlar by look, check the tripod mount on the vickers and compare it to the render picture or check it out by google

Demonstration Videos Edit

They look fine, .ogg format is less than well supported but this ain't your fault. Firefox will bring out some updates on his native player - at least I hope so D:

I moved them right under the stats table, still messing around with the layout to find the best one. BFH-Wiki 20:49, July 19, 2011 (UTC)

LOLOLOL THEY DISAPPEAR! Wikia bug ftw.... BFH-Wiki 20:50, July 19, 2011 (UTC)

Nice find with the command, I still haven't found the perfect layout yet. BFH-Wiki 21:04, July 19, 2011 (UTC)

You like the current arrangement on Battlefield Heroes? BFH-Wiki 18:00, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

Talk Meter Edit

Ok, I noticed, will take a look onto it ;) BFH-Wiki 12:03, August 5, 2011 (UTC)

I looked at it as promised and came to the following conclusion: Too complex ... I just can guess how it works, and what I read made me unsecure http://www.sitemeter.com/ BFH-Wiki 18:02, August 5, 2011 (UTC)

Not that easy as you may think ;) Firstly you'll have to create a sitemeter account, then configure sitemeter to track certain parameters on this wiki here and finally copy/paste the proper changed code to a page which has to be set as blog (or other) post. BFH-Wiki 18:40, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
Can you view this page?Special:AdminDashboard - There's an even more detailed stats table on the top right? BFH-Wiki 18:54, August 6, 2011 (UTC)

No can you take an printscreen of it and send it over here pliz ? Maxwell123 18:55, August 6, 2011 (UTC)

Admin Dashbord BFH-Wiki 19:07, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
It's being worked on to make the "Quick Stats" visible for everyone. Maybe you can see them here next week. BFH-Wiki 19:28, August 6, 2011 (UTC)

No, sorry. The database is updated after each day. So the current views cannot be seen as long as you don't own wikia.com itself. BFH-Wiki 11:11, August 7, 2011 (UTC)

I just doubt if the effort to set up Talk Meter is worth the real time info about view stats... BFH-Wiki 13:33, August 8, 2011 (UTC)

Tutorial mode Edit

It's quite easy to remove the dead space area:

Just remove the following line out of \Battlefield Heroes\mods\bfheroes\Levels\seaside_skirmish\server.zip\GameModes\gpm_tut\16\GamePlayObjects.con

Remove this line
CombatAreaManager.use 1

Copyrights Edit

Very well done, I now created the EA-Template! This forces me to tag my own images as well :3 But I'm sooooo lazy..... BFH-Wiki 16:44, August 14, 2011 (UTC)

Commendation Edit

TY for making this wiki better :} —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thomasduck11 (TalkContribs)

Youtube Channel Edit

This guy already had the same idea: User_talk:Rick97
But of course you can make your own youtube channel if you want to, I'm simply not able to BFH-Wiki 15:05, August 29, 2011 (UTC)

Renders Edit

Thanks for the new renders! Yes I noticed your uploads on the BF wiki, the renders here were uploaded myself beside the icons, which can see here ;) http://battlefieldheroes.wikia.com/index.php?limit=200&tagfilter=&title=Special%3AContributions&contribs=user&target=Maxwell123&namespace=6&year=&month=-1

There are huge change coming to the weapon section, keep your eyes peeled for the new layout including! Need still testing with the damage charts and infobox templates :s BFH-Wiki 23:22, November 25, 2011 (UTC)

That's where I got the idea from ^_^ I do some testing on Tommy's_Typewriter atm. I set up a javascript image (canvas) which can be edited by everyone, so there's no need to upload stat images anymore. Unfortunately I've some problems with the damage not being calculated correctly for certain values D: BFH-Wiki 21:03, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

Ty again for new renders ;) BFH-Wiki 22:32, February 1, 2012 (UTC)

3D Models Edit

I slightly changed the layout and added a file size warning, this way people should be aware of the download duration. They look very amazing indeed, the lightning is a bit different to the real game due to the model renderer but this is nutpicking ;) BFH-Wiki (talk) 08:03, September 18, 2012 (UTC)

Your proposal is very reasonable, there's some explanation why I came to the same conclusion: I discourage from using hard redirects to external images (clicking on a thumbnail that redirects to an external site), it's a generally unwelcomed procedure outside of the "weblinks" section on a wiki. Using soft redirects would be an option, but I'd prefer to upload the highest quality as possible to the wiki and add the source on the file page itself (nearby the license section). BFH-Wiki (talk) 21:06, September 18, 2012 (UTC)

Nocaption template Edit

Could you give an example where do you would like to use this template? If you want to hide all the caption bars in general this is better done via CSS. Personnally I don't care about the small bar seen in column 2, the icon is pretty handy to get on the file page and a must for caption texts (Column 3).
